How The Yellow Umbrella Project Began

I stumbled onto one of those fictional stories on Facebook, the kind meant to evoke emotion and the humanity of people. This one was the story of how one woman shared her yellow umbrella with a stranger on a rainy afternoon and as time went on, she began to see more and more yellow umbrellas popping up in her city and thought it was a beautiful thing. In the story, a six year old girl exclaims, “It looks like sunshine!”, and that stuck with me. I immediately thought to myself, “Sometimes we need a little sunshine on our dark, cloudy days and I just knew in my heart that this was something that should exist in the real world. And so, The Yellow Umbrella Project was born. I just couldn’t stop thinking about it until it was brought to life.
